What is a cycle time?
The term cycle time is not uniformly defined and describes either the duration of a single production step or the complete production of a single product. If, for example, one speaks in relation to Injection Molding of the cycle time, one usually refers to the duration of the production step from mould closing to filling, moulding, cooling or Vulcanising until demoulding and resealing.
Meaning of the cycle time
Enable short and stable cycle times:
- Economical series production
- Plannable capacity utilisation
- Minimisation of machine downtime
- Efficient use of resources
At the same time, the cycle time must not be at the expense of quality, Curing or demouldability can be shortened. Particularly in the case of rubber parts, where the material and geometry represent a natural lower limit in order to achieve sufficient Vulcanisation of the material.
