What are polyurethane elastomers (PU)?
Polyurethane elastomers (PU) are high-performance plastics with elastic properties that are created by the reaction of polyols with isocyanates. Depending on the chemical composition and degree of cross-linking, PU materials can be produced in a wide hardness range - from very soft and flexible to hard and wear-resistant. This versatility makes PU one of the most widely used materials for technical components - whether as moulded or milled parts. Rubber moulding for seals, buffers or track rollers or as Plastic composite part with thermoplastic carriers, in which the elasticity and wear resistance of PU is specifically combined with the rigidity of the plastic substrate.

PU is used for Vibration dampers, Rubber-Metal Composite Parts, castors, wheels, Seals, moulded parts, conveyor belts, screens and coatings. In the automotive industry, it is used for bearing bushes, shock absorber components and car body reinforcements. In mechanical engineering and conveyor technology, PU protects highly stressed components from abrasion and increases their service life. By combining it with metals, plastics or fabrics, composite parts can be produced that can withstand high mechanical loads as well as complex geometries.
