Component assembly comprises the assembly of individual components into a functional unit as an assembly. In rubber and plastics technology, for example, seals, inserts, housings, composite elements or damping elements are integrated into a larger technical system. Depending on the quantities, tolerances and product complexity, assembly is carried out manually, semi-automatically or fully automatically.

Connection types in the assembly process
Form-fit connections, such as tongue and groove connections or feather keys
Force-fit connections, such as clamps
Material-to-material connections, such as bonding, soldering or welding
Hybrid connections, such as riveting or screwing (form-fit and force-fit)

Applications of component assembly
Component assembly is used, for example, wherever rubber or plastic parts are combined with other components:
- Sealing systems with carrier parts, rings or guides
- Plastic housing with rubber seals
- Composite parts with screw or plug-in connections
- Complete functional units for automotive or mechanical engineering

Advantages for customers and production
- Fast integration into end products
- Quality control of the complete functional unit
- Reduction of assembly steps at the customer
