Visitors included District Administrator Otto Lederer, Tuntenhausen's First Mayor Christian Mayer, Andreas Bensegger, Chairman of the Rosenheim IHK Regional Committee, and Peter Heßner from the economic development agency.
At the heart of the matter was a topic that affects many medium-sized businesses: how can corporate succession succeed in such a way that not only is the business preserved, but new development is also made possible?
For us, this question is very concrete. Since the takeover, we have been working on developing GUME step by step: with clearer processes, more structure and new impetus – and at the same time with great respect for what has been built up here over decades.
For many years, GUME has stood for technical moulded rubber parts, moulded silicone parts and rubber-to-metal bonded components from Upper Bavaria. Our customers come from industries where components have to work – reliably, precisely and often under demanding conditions. Exactly why the combination of experience, craftsmanship know-how and technical development is so important to us.
The exchange showed just how crucial medium-sized enterprises are for the region. They create jobs, train skilled workers, retain technical expertise locally, and help ensure that industrial value creation does not take place solely in major centres.
For GUME, Ostermünchen is not just a location on paper. This is where tools, prototypes and series components are created. This is where people work who understand machines, materials and customer requirements in detail. And this is also where we want to invest in the future – in processes, in technology and in a strong team.
