Introduction
We are GUME, a mid-sized supplier in the development and manufacturing of custom rubber moulded and composite parts. Our components are found in machinery from Siemens, MAN, Magna, Krones, PARI and many other market leaders. In summer 2025, 2 new managing directors took the helm and brought us out of short-time working and back onto a growth trajectory within four months. The K-Zeitung reported on this in April 2026: „SMEs in crisis: Why short-time working when you can grow?“
We’re planning to take on 15 % more orders in 2026 – and we need you to help us do that.
Our in-house toolmaking department is the heart of GUME and the decisive lever for our growth. That is why we have almost doubled this team. One space is still waiting for you – at our Tuntenhausen site, between Munich and Rosenheim.
Responsibilities
- You design tooling for our rubber moulded and composite parts in SolidWorks – from the initial sketch to series production
- You create and optimise 3D models, technical drawings and manufacturing documentation
- You solve tooling and manufacturing problems directly at the machine, alongside production – not from the meeting room
- You sample and measure new tools yourself and immediately see the impact of your design
- You are continuously improving our existing tool inventory
- You speak on an equal footing with design engineers of our customers from medical technology, mechanical engineering, aerospace and defence
Profile
- Your foundation: Master craftsman as a tool mechanic / toolmaker, technician or Bachelor in mechanical engineering – or comparable practical experience. We look more at what you can do than at titles.
- Your toolkit: Confident use of SolidWorks or a comparable CAD system (Catia, Creo, Inventor – you get up to speed quickly)
- Your thinking: You read technical drawings reliably and think in tolerances, not approximations
- Your mindset: Optimiser spirit – You do not settle for „That's alright“ satisfied
- Your working style: autonomous, reliable, a team player, and that's how we live it too
- Plus, not essential: experience in the plastics or rubber industry
We offer
- Attractive salary: depending on experience and with performance bonuses
- Real co-determination: We are 40 people. Your ideas are heard – and sometimes they are already implemented three days later.
- Multi-generational mix: old-school toolmakers with 35+ years of experience meet a hungry young management team in their early 30s
- Growth rather than stagnation: We’re growing by 15 % and more. Our order books are full. You’ll help shape the business, rather than just managing it
- Modern setup: Own in-house MES, tablets instead of lever arch files in production, dedicated programmer in-house
- Short channels: independent, pragmatic, quick decisions without lengthy loops
- Location with good transport links: From our location in Tuntenhausen, you can reach Ostermünchen station on foot, giving you a direct connection to Munich East station (25 mins) and Rosenheim (12 mins).
- Permanent employment contract in a growing company
