Job description

Introduction

We are GUME, a medium-sized supplier specialising in the development and manufacturing of custom moulded rubber and composite parts. Our components can be found in machinery made by Siemens, MAN, Magna, Krones, PARI and many other market leaders – anywhere that quality, precision and reliability are crucial. We are particularly strong when it comes to demanding, highly technical special parts and solutions that others cannot deliver.

In summer 2025, two new managing directors took the helm and brought us back from short-time working onto a growth path within four months. The K-Zeitung reported on this in April 2026: „SMEs in crisis: Why short-time working when you can grow?“

We’re planning to take on 15 % more orders in 2026 – and we need you to help us do that.

To strengthen our production team, we are looking for an immediate start for a Master Craftsman in Rubber Technology, specialisation in moulded parts (m/f/d), who is just as at home at the machine as he is in managing his shift.

Your tasks

You manage your manufacturing area independently and, together with production management, ensure a smooth production process.

Your duties include in particular:

  • Management and professional development of staff in your production area on press and injection moulding machinery
  • Shift and staff scheduling
  • Control of daily manufacturing processes including order prioritisation, machine allocation and set-up planning
  • Setting up, maintaining and optimising our production facilities, as well as actively supporting technical challenges
  • Monitoring of process metrics such as cycle times, scrap rates and quality specifications
  • Analysis of faults as well as sustainable implementation of corrective and improvement measures
  • Support for tool trials, run-ups and serial production transfers
  • Execution and documentation of quality inspections in accordance with established standards
  • Ensuring occupational health and safety, order and cleanliness within your area of responsibility
  • Continuous improvement of setup times, machine availability and production processes
  • Close coordination with production planning, quality assurance, design and toolmaking
  • Active contribution to the further development of our in-house MES system

Your profile

You bring technical understanding, practical experience in elastomer processing and a passion for responsibility.

Ideally, you have:

  • A completed apprenticeship as a plastics and rubber technologist, process mechanic for plastics and rubber technology, or a comparable qualification
  • Further training to become an IHK Industrial Meister in Rubber, a Meister in Rubber Technology or a Technician
  • Several years of experience in the manufacture of rubber-moulded and composite parts
  • Practical knowledge in setting up, operating and maintaining press and injection moulding machines
  • Initial experience in functional or line management of staff
  • Sound understanding of tool technology, machine design and production processes
  • Assertiveness, a strong sense of responsibility and a distinct hands-on mentality
  • An autonomous, structured and reliable working style
  • Keen to develop processes further and take on new challenges
  • Very good command of German at a minimum C1 level

This is what we offer you

With us you won't find a rigid corporate environment, but rather a medium-sized company with short decision-making paths and plenty of scope for shaping your own work.

You can look forward to this:

  • Attractive remuneration with additional performance-related bonus scheme
  • Leadership responsibility from the outset
  • Great scope for creative input and direct collaboration with the management and production boards
  • An experienced generation mix of long-standing materials specialists and a young, dynamic management team
  • A growing company with full order books and long-term prospects
  • Comprehensive induction into our manufacturing processes and materials world
  • Modern production control with a proprietary in-house MES, digital processes and internal software development
  • Quick decisions without corporate bureaucracy
  • Permanent, full-time position in a successful growing company
  • Good transport links at the Tuntenhausen site with walking distance to Ostermünchen station and a direct connection to Munich and Rosenheim
