Job description

Introduction

We are GUME, a mid-sized supplier specialising in the development and manufacturing of custom moulded rubber and composite parts. Our components are used in machinery by Siemens, MAN, Magna, Krones, PARI and many other market leaders. In the summer of 2025, two new managing directors took the helm and, within four months, steered us out of short-time working and back onto a growth path. The K-Zeitung reported on this in April 2026: „SMEs in crisis: Why short-time working when you can grow?“

We’re planning to take on 15 % more orders in 2026 – and we need you to help us do that.

To strengthen our production team, we are looking for an immediate start for a Team Leader in Rubber Technology, specialisation in moulded parts (m/f/d), who will support our manufacturing and our Production Manager both technically and disciplinarily.

Responsibilities

  • Professional and line management of our production team in cooperation with our production manager at the press and injection moulding machines
  • Support with staff deployment and shift planning, as well as the induction and ongoing development of employees
  • Production planning and capacity management in collaboration with the production management: order sequencing, setup sequences, machine allocation
  • Responsibility for process stability and product quality in ongoing production (target cycle time, tolerance limits, scrap rates)
  • Process optimisation and series release for our materials: rubber, LSR, HTV silicone, TPU/TPE, plastics
  • Management of new launch control projects, tool trials and transfer to series production
  • Analysis and sustainable resolution of process disruptions including root cause analysis and action tracking
  • Creation and approval of initial sample inspection reports as well as maintenance of process documentation
  • Close collaboration with toolmaking, design, quality assurance and production planning
  • Continuous improvement of setup times, lead times and machine availability
  • Help shape our in-house MES: You say what production needs – we build it

Profile

  • Successfully completed vocational training as a plastics and rubber technologist, process mechanic for plastics and rubber, or comparable, ideally with further training as a master craftsman or technician
  • Several years of professional experience in elastomer processing / manufacture of moulded rubber and composite parts, with demonstrable experience in leading a team
  • Experience in production planning, project management and process optimisation
  • Sound technical understanding of machine and tool design as well as their functions
  • Assertiveness, a hands-on mentality and the ability to keep a team together even during hectic phases
  • Motivation to discover new things and take on responsibility
  • Good command of German at C2 level

We offer

  • Attractive salary: depending on experience and with performance bonuses
  • Genuine co-determination: We are a team of 40 people. You contribute your own ideas independently and coordinate their implementation in collaboration with the executive management and production management.
  • Leadership responsibility from day one
  • Generational mix: old-school materials technologists with 35+ years of experience meet a hungry young management team in their early 30s
  • Growth rather than stagnation: we’re growing by 15 % and more. Our order books are full. You and your career will be part of this growth
  • Modern setup: Own in-house MES, tablets instead of lever arch files in production, dedicated programmer in-house
  • Short channels: independent, pragmatic, quick decisions without lengthy loops
  • Location with great transport links: From our location in Tuntenhausen, you can easily walk to Ostermünchen station, giving you direct connections to Munich East station (25 mins) and Rosenheim (12 mins).
  • Permanent employment contract in a growing company
